Barbara Allen

Barb Allen’s life was forever changed when her husband, Lt Louis Allen, and the Commanding Officer were tragically killed in Iraq in 2005. SSG Alberto Martinez was arrested and faced trial for their murders, but to Barb’s dismay, he was ultimately acquitted after pleading guilty. This profound tragedy sent Barb spiraling into a decade-long tailspin.

Today, Barb channels her experiences and passion into guiding others through their own adversities. As an accomplished author, she skillfully transformed her own personal traumas into compelling books and live presentations. With an uncanny ability to uncover humor, blessings, and opportunities amidst personal and professional challenges, Barb finds true joy in helping individuals discover how to channel their pain into a powerful new purpose.

It was the pain of her loss and the unjustness of the trial that fueled Barbara to write her first book, Front Toward Enemy. She found inspiration for her second book, How to Woo a Widow, when she opened herself up to love again. In 2021, she published her signature book, What Not to Wear to a Murder Trial, and other tips tragedy taught me. Today, Barb enjoys her work as a personal author and ghostwriter as she prepares to bring How to Woo a Widow to life in her first film.
