Neil Palmer

Neil is a Bristol based author . To date ,Neil has published thirteen books ,including the popular "Derby Days" series, "When Rugby Was Rugby" ,And "When Football Was Football ",Cardiff City and Swansea City.

Neil has also ghost written "Punky" the autobiography of former Bristol Rovers striker Paul Randall, as well as the acclaimed biography of Welsh football icon Trevor Ford .

Many Of Neil's books focus on Bristol City Football Club ,reflecting a life long passion for the club. In 2021 ,Neil founded the Bristol City Former Players Association. Popular Bristol City titles include "Behind The Goal" a nostalgic look at the clubs East End stand, and "Match of My Life" in which twenty club legends from different eras reflect on their careers with the Robins .

Neil has also chronicled the stories of two of Bristol City's most celebrated players in "The Gerry Gow Story" and Geoff Merricks autobiography "Life With The Robins And Beyond".

In 2024 ,Neil collaborated on "Topman" the autobiography of former Bristol Rovers players and BBC Radio Bristol presenter Geoff Twentyman ,published by Pitch Publishing .Neil's latest book ,and thirteenth overall ,is "Into The Big Time" which tells the story of Bristol City's 1975/76 promotion winning season that secured a place in Division One .Packed with rare interviews, stories, and photographs from those involved ,the book celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the clubs most iconic achievements .The book is available through Pitch Publishing .
