Paul McGuire

Paul 'Dr. Pauly' McGuire is the author of six novels and the best-selling LOST VEGAS. Originally from NYC, he lived in L.A. for a decade and now resides in Colorado.

McGuire spent twenty years as a gambling reporter, traveling from Las Vegas to Monte Carlo to Melbourne, documenting the poker circuit. He also covered the gambling side of the NFL and NBA. His novel, THE KICKER, delves into the dark underworld of gambling and pro football.

McGuire's other novels — FRIED PEACHES, GUARD THIS, FADED — tell the stories of defiant artists, musicians, and writers caught in the grind of late-stage capitalism.

His latest novel, PARANOID ANDROID, is a conspiracy thriller and murder mystery that examines surveillance, the rise of AI, corporate power, and the hidden systems shaping modern life.

Whether writing about artists, athletes, gamblers, or global conspiracies, McGuire is drawn to characters searching for meaning, truth, and human connection in an increasingly chaotic world.
