Julie B. Wiest

Dr. Julie B. Wiest is Professor of Sociology at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She earned a doctorate in sociology from the University of Tennessee and master's degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Georgia's Grady College. Wiest has studied extreme violence and crime for 20+ years and also conducts research on mass media effects and the relationship between new media technologies and social change.
