Karl D. Hostetler

My scholarship focuses on ethical issues in education. Philosophers central in my work include Aristotle, Richard J. Bernstein, Stanley Cavell, John Dewey, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Pierre Hadot, John McDowell, Martha Nussbaum, Socrates/Plato, and Charles Taylor.

I was a classroom teacher for a number of years. I am professor in the College of Education and Human sciences, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
