Elaine Fields Smith

Elaine is an author and native Texan, living on a small ranch with her husband of 30+ years and several dogs and cats. Writing credits include The Perfect Place - a novella; Ridin' Around - 8-Tracks on Wheels - creative nonfiction; One Wrong Move - Can Kill - based on true crime novel. Girl With a Star Spangled Heart is also creative nonfiction, the story of her mother as a WAC in WWII.

She wrote Virginia Reger's biography in 2017, Ridin' Ropin' & Jumpin' Over Cars won both Best Nonfiction at the North Texas Book Festival and a Will Rogers Medallion Award. That book morphed into a documentary which has won nine different awards at film festivals.

Her latest release is a fantasy novel she began in 1986, long before achieving her dream of publishing a book. She found three spiral notebooks which contained about 33,000 hand written words (there was no computer word processing available then), read them, then used NaNoWriMo to finish the novel.
