David May

Believing that the church's inward focus is robbing Jesus of the body of believers he left behind to carry on the work he began, David is an adamant advocate for an active church - one active in the affairs of the neighborhood, the nation, and the world.

Raised in Memphis, Tennessee. USMC Captain with time in Viet Nam. One degree from the University of Mississippi, another from Florida State. Twenty-five years in Florida working for the Department of Children and Families, including a stint as Child Welfare Administrator for the state. Fourteen years in St. Paul, Minnesota as Social Services Director. Retired from both jobs, writing and lecturing and taking care of grandchildren. We moved to Port au Prince, Haiti, in January 2013 to host a guest house for medical mission groups and others.

I have four books out. All of them are aimed at stirring the church on to good works, getting it out of its pews and into the streets. Book number four is "Does the Church Really Have Good News? 5 Promises" released October 2014.

I love Amazon and books. I have switched to reading in the Kindle format and am marketing my books that way as well. Charlene and I and one of our grandsons, David 3 also love going to the Mall of America, getting lunch in the food court, then going to Barnes and Noble, browsing for books, and sitting in the enclosed Starbucks with a "tall-vanilla-bean-frappuccino-with-no-whipped-cream," reading.

Hope you enjoy my books. They are not your typical Christian growth books. More aimed at calling the church to arms.
