Yasha Grobman

Yasha (Jacob) Grobman is an architect and an academic. His research concentrates on digital architecture, performance oriented design and the use of computers in the design and fabrication of architecture.

Grobman is the co-curator of Soft[ware]Boundaries, an international exhibition on digital architecture in 2003, 'Performalism - Form and Function in Digital Architecture' (2008) and "5 Moments" (2011) an international exhibitions at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art . He is the author of numerous papers in academic and professional journals and co-author of book on Performalism (2012) Routledge press.

He is the co-founder of Axelrod Grobman Architects (2003) who is currently involved in the design and construction of public, private and urban projects. He was awarded in numerous architectural prizes and competitions, among them are Yuli Ofer Prize for Advancement of Architecture (2009), AI Best Architectural Project of the Year 2008/9 Design Award and the Porter School of Environmental Studies green building design competition (2008).

Grobman graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem (1997) and holds a Master of Architecture from the Design Research Laboratory in the Architectural Association (AA) in London (2001) and a PhD from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology (2008). He has been a postdoctoral fellow in Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) (2009-2010).
