JOHN E. PETTY has been writing for the better part of thirty years. He is the author of CAPES, CROOKS, AND CLIFFHANGERS: HEROIC SERIAL POSTERS FROM THE GOLDEN AGE, and has contributed short stories to several anthologies, including VILLAINY, DISCOVERY, and TEN SPURS, the literary journal of the Mayborn Writer's Conference. An avid collector of rare books, comic books, movie posters, and original comic art, John lives in Lewisville, TX with his wife and an ever-changing menagerie of dogs and cats (all rescue animals). He believes that puppy mills are an evil that needs to be wiped off the face of the earth, and donates regularly to a number of animal charities.

In the past, a John has made a living as a classically-trained singer, a copywriter, a tarot card reader, a magician and escape artist, a comedy defensive driving instructor, a wine tasting teacher, a film professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, a talk radio host, a graphic designer, a retail manager, and an auctioneer. What comes next is anybody's guess,
