Sam Skolnik

Sam Skolnik began his journalism career as a news aide and freelance writer for The Washington Post in 1989. He went on to report for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and the Las Vegas Sun. He's won several national journalism awards and was selected to be a Knight-Wallace journalism fellow at the University of Michigan for 2007-08.

Since publication of High Stakes in 2011, the book has been featured in stories and columns in The New York Times, Salon, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, U.S. News & World Report, and The Christian Science Monitor. Sam has also been interviewed on several leading NPR affiliates, including WBUR (Boston), WBEZ (Chicago), and KPCC (Los Angeles).

Exciting 2015 update: Beacon Press has decided to publish a paperback version of High Stakes on June 16.
