In my life, social activism gets my gold medal, writing gets my bronze, and the silver is still in dispute. I enjoy writing non-fiction best because it has to do with the real world. I like writing fiction best because it has to do with the real world too, but not everybody “gets” this, so it's great fun playing with my readers' frontal lobes, consciences, etc. I adore golf, but at my creaky age (70+, and I’ve had my first heart attack), I'm not sure I can do the golf deed any more. I hope to be a successful writer and social activist when I grow up, but now that I’m a chronological “senior,” I’ll settle for being a good cook and a good husband. I wear overalls every day because they're comfy, and I rarely leave my tiny home because people scare me, and because I'm busy writing and trying to save the world. My hair is too long, and it seems I don't give a hoot what the world has to say about that (my wife loves it or tolerates it, I’m not sure which, and either of these is good enough for me).
