Eleanor Pingree

It is my pleasure to join you as a reader and as a writer. We are all united by a love of words. My books are “A Salem Chronicle” and “Speak in a Soft Voice – an Irish Lass in America”. My New England background has influenced my life and my stories. “A Salem Chronicle” begins in 1807 when Salem, Massachusetts flourished in its trade with China. “Speak in a Soft Voice” is set in Massachusetts and Maine as well as Ireland and Florida in an era that includes the tumultuous 1960s. The books have adventurous heroines that I could never emulate since I admit to being a somewhat of a coward. Although I studied journalism at Boston University, my goals have not included being Lois Lane. My background has been in newspapers and magazines with an emphasis on feature stories.
