Tricia Dower

Tricia Dower was a business executive before reinventing herself as a writer in 2002. She's the author of the Shakespeare-inspired story collection, Silent Girl (Inanna 2008) and the novels Stony River (Penguin Canada 2012) and Becoming Lin (Caitlin Press 2016). Her short fiction has appeared in Room of One's Own, The New Quarterly, Hemispheres, Cicada, NEO, Insolent Rudder and Big Muddy. Silent Girl was nominated for the Frank O'Connor Award and the George Ryga Award for Social Awareness in Literature.Stony River was shortlisted for the Canadian Authors Association fiction award. In 2010 she won first prize for fiction in The Malahat Review Open Season Award and in 2015, first prize for creative nonfiction in subTerrain Magazine's literary awards. Born in Rahway, New Jersey, and educated at Gettysburg College, Tricia is a dual citizen of the US and Canada. She lives and writes in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia.
