I am a semi-retired pediatrician who has practiced for 40 years in Southern Maine - involving almost a quarter of a million patient visits. I have watched pediatrics, medicine, and small town rural America evolve from in -home offices to glass medical buildings, mom and pop drugstores morph to megapharm chains, and an ER without full-time doctors grow to a 20 million dollar state of the art facility dedicated by a former president.
