I am Megan Graae Davidson -- author, editor and writing instructor. As a young adult, I was fascinated with fiction and wrote pretty bad examples of it. After completing a Bachelor's degree at Occidental College, I sought a Master's in Fine Writing at the University of Pittsburgh and endured 2.5 years of hell in some of the harshest, most critical fiction workshops imaginable. There, writers would be reduced to tears. Under the tutelage of frightening yet supportive professors -- including the well-known novelist Buddy Nordan -- I learned a few things about the craft of writing fiction.
I eventually went on to edit and ghost-write novels and memoirs at a small press in Pittsburgh, where I worked with writers seeking to improve their manuscripts. During the 15 years I was there, I wrote and published 3 historical romances, all published by Kensington Publishing: Road to the Isle, The Song Within, and Once a Rogue (the latter published under the pen name Megan Gray). In Syracuse, NY, I taught fiction and nonfiction classes for both adults and young people at the Downtown Writers Center for 10 years. I also completed another novel, The Thundering, a suspense thriller published by Champlain Avenue Books. My lastest novella, Duet, concerns two musicians who fell in and out of love in the tumultuous 1960s; in 2010, older and somewhat wiser, they cautiously attempt to reignite their passion in a second chance at romance.
