From a Farm in Michigan to life in Florida

I grew up on a dairy farm north of Grand Rapids, Michigan and learned a strong work ethic there.

I had polio at the age of 18 months and became a survivor and developed into a Type A personality. Both qualities continue to shape my life.

I received a B.A. in speech at Central Michigan University; a M.A. in Instruction and Curriculum at Michigan State University; I have taken post-grad hours in Eng. at FAU.

Most of my life I have been an educator: speech, forensics, drama, journalism, literature and writing. I directed plays, coached debate and forensics, sponsored school newspapers. My last position was as a writing adjunct at Nova University.

Currently I give writing workshops encouraging others to share their stories--to leave a legacy for their friends and family.
