Vicki Bartholomew

Vicki Bartholomew is a member of Dramatists Guild of America whose family-style plays have been produced in almost every state in the USA. She was born in the center of the USA in Oklahoma, and although she has lived in several states since then, she is especially proud of winning the Jewel Box Playwriting Contest in Oklahoma City. She has won the Columbia Entertainment Company Jackie White Memorial National Children's Play Writing Contest twice. She recently won a third Moondance Film Festival Award for "Three Fathers", a screenplay set in China. The screenplay "Dragonflies and Elephants" won the Aloha Accolade Award at the 2011 Honolulu Film Award and "The Wedding Bet", a screenplay set in Bangkok, won the Best Short Screenplay at the same contest. As a young adult, Vicki taught at Chalermkwan Satree School in Thailand. Her short play "The Red Cat of Chiang Mai" is one of her favorite plays and inspired her to write her Thai screenplays. When she travels to theatres across the USA, she often visits Thai restaurants and enjoys authentic Thai curry made with fish sauce. It rates right up there with a meal of southern fried catfish and okra.
