Gordon Cameron is a Physics graduate of the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He has 25 years engineering experience in both R&D and high volume manufacturing in the semiconductor industry, working in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States. As a principal engineer, it was his role to drive breakthrough and innovative engineering solutions to difficult and complex problems when engineers were “stumped” or showed no signs of making progress. Sometimes teams of engineers had been working on a problem for months, or a solution was needed urgently to keep production going; the problem was frequently solved quickly and without fuss by applying these systematic problem solving and creative thinking tools. The step-by-step methodology and problem solving tools he describes are based on a career of repeated proven success in an intensive “hands on” engineering environment. During his 20 years with INTEL Corporation, he trained and coached numerous engineers on problem-solving. He was elected President of the Arizona TRIZ Association in 2007.
