Miluka Rivera

Miluka Rivera, a noted journalist, who was awarded "Exceptional Women of 2010" by La Opinión newspaper, is a multi-awarded actress- activist, poet, writer and filmmaker. She has made significant contributions to the advancement of the arts and to the welfare of the Latino actors nationwide. Ms. Rivera exemplary and outstanding achievements have been awarded and recognized by the cities of New York, Burbank, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico.

As a Hollywood correspondent and journalist, her articles appeared in: Los Angeles Times newspaper, Hispanic Magazine, Screen Actor, Writers Guild of America West Journal and several Spanish publications such as: El Nuevo Día, El Vocero and Vea magazine.

Miluka Rivera was also a former National Board Director of Screen Actors Guild (SAG), chaired the New York and Los Angeles SAG Latino Subcommittee for several years. Rivera efforts were rewarded by the Guild who bestowed her with the 1983 "Joseph C. Riley" Outstanding Achievement Award (becoming the first and only Hispanic to this day to be awarded in this category by the Guild). She also received a plaque as a founding member of Puerto Rico's SAG in the late 90's.

Miluka Rivera's never slackening labors on behalf of the Latino actors and its community, earned her inclusion for several years in the coveted and prestigious Marquis's Editions, "Who's Who in the World" and Who's Who in America," among others.

Her acclaimed book "Legado Puertorriqueño en Hollywood" (Puerto Rican Legacy in Hollywood) is an extension of her tireless and excellent efforts and activism.

Miluka Rivera can visit your organization or business to give a presentation of her book about the Puerto Rican and Latino Legacy in Cinema, give a lecture, or lead an interactive industry workshop based on the subject of your preference.

Ms. Rivera is presently touring her book and giving lectures to Universities.

Miluka Rivera is also the co-founded with her husband Navarre Matlovsky, a Broadway performer, the Kumaras Center for the Arts, Dance & Etiquette in Burbank, CA.
