Beth Berret is an Associate Professor of Business with 21 years at Alvernia University. She has served on countless committees, including a number of strategic planning teams.
Currently, Berret is the Continuing Studies Business Program Coordinator and a member of the faculty executive team.
Berret received a doctorate in higher education from Widener University, holds an MBA from Philadelphia University and BS in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University. In addition, she is SPHR (Senior Profession in Human Resources) certified.
Dr. Berret is the recipient of the 2009 SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Foundation Advisor of the Year Award and the Saint Bernardine Award for Excellence in Teaching, and was the recipient of the 2011 “Christian R. & Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching.”
Berret has taught a myriad of business courses over the years, serves on dissertation committees, presents at regional, national and international conferences, periodically conducts small business consulting and training, and collaborates with colleagues on articles. She serves as the Faculty Advisor to the Alvernia Chapter of SHRM since its inception in 1995 and is the faculty tour director to plan student/faculty interdisciplinary Business and Theology Department international travel experiences.
Berret’s professional experience stems from years of practice in human resource management primarily in health care. Berret is a local and national member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She also sits on the Board of Directors and the HR Committee for Berks Home Health Care Management in Reading, PA. She is membership chair and a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America (Hawk Mountain Council). She currently serves as Division Director and member of the Eastern Education Research Association and is active in the community.
Berret is an avid animal lover and when not teaching, advising students, or spending time with her husband and three children, enjoys long walks with her German Shepherd Bailey.
