Bob Farr

Robert "Bob" Farr serves as Bishop of the Missouri Conference of The United Methodist Church. Before his work as Bishop, Farr served as the Director of the Center for Congregational Excellence for the Missouri Annual Conference for 8 years, guiding 35 church starts to life and providing oversight for over 150 Healthy Church consultations in the Missouri conference. He has led 128 individual church consults in 29 conferences across the connection and has extensive experience in new church planting, church transformation, language-based faith communities and leadership development. Part of his ministry experience includes planting Grace in Lee’s Summit which grew to over 500 under his leadership and relocating Church of the Shepherd in St. Charles to its current site which grew to 1,200 during his tenure.

As a writer, he has co-authored several books with Kay Kotan and published by Abingdon Press, including: Renovate or Die – 10 Ways to Focus Your Church in Mission (2011), Get Their Name- Grow Your Church by Building New Relationships (2013), 10 Prescriptions for a Healthy Church (2015), The Necessary Nine (2015). His latest book, Obvious Wisdom was published by Market Square Publishing in 2018.
