Marc Schulman

Marc Schulman is a historian who has spent four decades making history accessible in print, on screen, and online. He is the founder and editor of HistoryCentral, one of the web's oldest and largest history sites, and the author of History of American Presidential Elections: From George Washington to Joseph Biden, along with numerous works on American history, naval history, and the presidency. A pioneer of educational technology, he created his first multimedia history — a biography of John F. Kennedy — in 1992, and was among the earliest developers of history apps for the iPhone and iPad.

Since returning to Israel in 2011, Schulman has chronicled Israeli politics and life from his home in Tel Aviv: for ten years as a Newsweek columnist, and today in his independent newsletter and podcast, Tel Aviv Diary. He appears regularly as a commentator on i24NEWS. His newest book, Between Hope and Fear: Israel from Oslo to October 7, tells the story of Israel's last three decades from inside them. He holds a BA and MA from Columbia University.
