John O'Loughlin

John James O'Loughlin is a London-based author of Irish birth and nationality who grew up first in Hampshire and then in Surrey, in the south-east of England, where he attended a variety of state schools. Most of his adult life has been spent at various addresses in the London Borough of Haringey, north of the River Thames, to which he moved from Surrey in 1974, and all but a few of his books have been written there, the majority of which are of an intensely philosophical, not to say metaphysical and even ideological, nature intimating, via a loosely aphoristic approach to composition, of a new religious dispensation which he calls Social Theocracy/Transcendentalism, and identifies with what he terms 'the Centre', conceived as a politico-religious entity lying beyond state/church relativity. Aside from that, there is much in this author's work - extending over several decades (from 1973- 2024) - that is centred in logic and an increasingly complex structural approach to his theorizing.
