Paul Stubbs

Paul Stubbs is a dynamic technology leader and innovator with extensive experience at Microsoft and Amazon, particularly in the realms of generative AI, autonomous systems, modern work, and cloud computing. As a Principal Technical Evangelist for Alexa at Amazon, Paul has helped to drive technological creativity and inclusivity through the Alexa Skills Inventor program. This initiative, in collaboration with MIT App Inventor, empowers students to develop voice-activated Alexa skills, focusing on democratizing the field of voice technology.

Previously, as the Principal Program Manager at Microsoft, Paul was a driving force behind the development of advanced autonomous systems simulations and AI-driven solutions for drone technology. He played a pivotal role in the marketing launch of Project AirSim, a groundbreaking platform for building aerial autonomy. His work showed his ability to merge technical expertise with strategic marketing, introducing innovative products to the industry.

In his role as Director of AI Marketing for Autonomous Systems at Microsoft, Paul was a founding member of the AI Thought Leadership team. He led the charge in transforming AI innovation into commercial products, bridging the gap between Microsoft Research and market realities. This resulted in creating a new Autonomous Systems business unit, democratizing advanced autonomous systems across industries.

As a Director of Product Marketing for Azure AI, Paul was integral in shaping the direction and strategy for key Azure AI products. His focus on the technical product marketing of conversational AI and initiatives to educate and engage customers and developers showcased the capabilities of Microsoft’s AI tools and platforms.

In Paul's early career at Microsoft, he held important positions such as Chief Architect at the Azure Center of Excellence, where he created and implemented large-scale Azure solutions, and Senior Technical Evangelist for SharePoint and Office Developer, where he improved productivity solutions with advanced tools.

A published author, Paul has penned several books on software development, sharing his vast knowledge and experience in the field. His certifications include Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD).
