Monica Strobel

Monica Strobel draws on a wealth of professional expertise, practical optimism and passion for making a difference in the world, for her new book, The Compliment Quotient, and all of her creative endeavors. She inspires others with her can-do attitude and focus on leaving the world a better place, throughout a 25-year communications career in environmental, older adults and children's issues in small business, governmental service and nonprofits.

She realized she leveraged an early penchant for saying nice things ("or don't say anything at all") into personal and career success, going from shy and reserved to interested in others and engaging. Now, she's a passionate mom-preneur, seasoned writer and charismatic speaker. People find themselves telling her all kinds of things as she makes others feel at home and appreciated!

Monica learned to keep a positive attitude while maneuvering through life's triumphant and chaotic times alike--growing up in a family of eight, surviving "dumb Polack" and dumb blonde jokes, raising her children long-distance from family, getting divorced and being a busy working mother of three.

"I wrote The Compliment Quotient after answering the question, What would you do if you didn't need to get paid? I said, Compliment people! After all, compliments aren't simply etiquette or sugary self-help. They alter how you see, then what you say, to create an uplifted, positive environment for others, and yourself."

Monica is dedicated to empowering busy women to get more joy into and out of their lives and relationships, more easily, and strengthen families and the lives of children. She will be raising funds for ovarian cancer research and support and other philanthropy causes for women and families.

Monica grew up in the Chicago metro area, graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder, and resides in the metro Denver area, loving the Rocky Mountain lifestyle and inspiring her three children to put their best foot forward, find something positive to say and always know which way is west.
