Loretta Oakes

Born and raised in Colorado, Loretta received her BS in Engineering Science and then her MS in Civil Engineering. She received a NASA fellowship to build lunar habitation structures, then went on to work for IBM, EMTEK (A Motorola Company) and Hughes Aircraft before turning to writing when her children came along. Her first two children's books were published by Paulist Press in 2010 and in 2015 she published the first book in her chapter book series. Now an elementary teacher, Loretta continues to work in the publishing industry as well.
