David Hammons is a cartoonist (not the other artist named David Hammons, who takes pictures of fried chicken). David's humor was very much influenced by Gary Larson. He Lives on Whidbey Island in Washington State (yes, it really is an island) with his wife and daughter (although, if you ask them, they will deny it). His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington, and a Master's in Business Adminstration from Columbia College.
"I remember reading my first Far Side book in the early 80's. I was in a mall book store in Maryland with my soon-to-be wife. I began laughing so hard, I had to leave the store. That type of humor struck a chord with me. I thought then that if I were to do cartoon humor, it would be similar to The Far Side style. My favorite comedians are Stephen Wright and Steve Martin. I move from the corny to the sublime. I just love that sort of humor."
