Clement Baloup was born in 1978, from a French mother and a Vietnamese father. He was raised in Europe, Polynesia and South America.
After studying design in Marseilles, he joined the fine Arts school of Angouleme known as the comic book capital, and then attended the fine art school of Hanoi, in Vietnam.
After graduating he worked for television chanels while preparing drafts of comics, inspired by his experience in Asia.
His graphic memoir "Vietnamese memories” focused on vietnamese immigration issues, got critical acclaim and won several awards. He also worked on different comic book projects as an adaptation of The Suicide Club (Stevenson).
Set up in Marseille, he prepares his plans, writes, draws, paints, and curates exhibitions all over France and international cities.
Beyond the comic book, Clement fills orders illustrations for press, events or advertising.
His original artwork is being now part of several privates collections (Marseille, Paris, Bruxelles, Dubaï and London) and also in public collections (Musée de la Porte Dorée à Paris, BMVR l'Alcazar à Marseille), and has been shown in several countries including France, USA and Indonesia.
