Bernard Mooney, a native of Quebec City (in Canada), began following the stock market in early 1980 and this interest soon became a passion.
He worked at the newspaper Les Affaires from 1986 to 1997, first as a financial journalist and then as managing director of the Investment Section (from 1987).
In January 1997, he became a financial analyst and portfolio manager for a Montreal based mutual fund firm. From August 2000 to May 2002, he was managing editor of the financial website Webfin.com.
He returned to the Newspaper Les Affaires in May 2002 as managing editor of the Investor Section. He is now a columnist and blogger for the Journal as well as a well known speaker in the Province of Quebec.
He wrote the book «Investir en Bourse et s’enrichir» (Investing in Stock Market and Getting Rich) published in November 2001 which sold over 5,000 copies giving it best-seller status in Quebec.
As an investor, Bernard Mooney is deeply committed to long term investing buying high quality companies to keep for many years. He has been many times at the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in Omaha (Nebraska)to hear investment hero Warren Buffett.
His latest work is «The Opportunity of a Lifetime», in which he explains why right now, the stock market offers huge returns for the next few years and how to profit from this opportunity.
