Roy Parvin

Roy Parvin is the award-winning author of two books of fiction, The Loneliest Road in America and In the Snow Forest. His work has been selected for inclusion in the Best American Short Stories series and has been widely anthologized. He is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant and a Bread Loaf Fellowship. The New York Times named The Loneliest Road in America an editor's choice book, and Roy is the recipient of the Katherine Anne Porter Prize.

Roy has recently written, under the nom de namaste Yoga Matt, a humorous instructional book about yoga entitled Yoga for the Inflexible Male, that's coming out Fall 2019 from Ten Speed Press/Penguin Random House.

Roy's novella, “Menno’s Granddaughter,” was the made into a feature film, Voyez Comme Ils Dansent (See How They Dance), directed by Claude Miller, winner of the Jury Prize at the 2011 Rome Film Festival.
