Steve Sashihara is the CEO of Princeton Consultants Inc.(www.princeton.com), which he founded in 1981 to blend information technology and management consulting. The firm specializes in helping many of the world's best managed companies, as well as fast-growing innovators, integrate optimization into core business processes.
Steve contributed the article, "From Big Data to Big Optimization: What Every Executive Needs to Know," to The European Financial Review, and "Teaming Man and Machine to Optimize" to MWorld.
Steve was a featured speaker at GE's Mind + Machines conference, where he discussed "The Optimized Industrial Business" and introduced a maturity model to help companies assess their state of optimization and identify areas of opportunity. On the subject of optimization's growing impact, Steve delivered a plenary speech to the European Operations Research community at the OR2013 Conference in Rotterdam.
For the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF), Steve has served in a variety of leadership roles, including co-chairman. He has been an officer for the INFORMS Roundtable, a group representing top-level leaders in applied optimization for large businesses (Roundtable.informs.org).
Steve is a 1980 graduate of Princeton University, where he received an A.B. in philosophy. In 2015 he was reappointed to a four-year term on Princeton University's Advisory Council for the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering.
