BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS

Born in Sheffield, I've been involved in writing for many years.

As well as longer works of fiction, my writing includes having had scripts recorded for the radio and performed in front of an audience.

Formerly Classical Music was a major part of my life; it still remains one of my interests along with Cookery, Gardening, History, Genealogy and Photography.

"Holding Briefs" is available for kindle and in paperback. First published on Kindle 2011. First published in paperback 2012.

"Bob's job as a barrister has brought him to a new city where he meets up with an old friend Oliver. He joins Oliver's choir and also gets invited to Oliver's naturist swimming club where he enjoys his first visit.

At work he encounters Sue, one of the senior partners. They get along rather well, but at some time he will need to tell her about his naturism. How will she react? How will it affect his status at work?

Over the course of the next couple of weeks he is able to keep the secret, but then after she harbours suspicions about just what he was doing the previous evening she interrogates him.

As a barrister she is used to asking questions to find out the truth. But when she finds out his secret, will that end their relationship?"

"Without Prejudice" is the sequel to "Holding Briefs". Published in September 2012 and available in both kindle format and paperback.

Set a few months later, it continues the story of Bob and Sue. Many of the characters already known appear, with a few new faces introduced.

The boss of the Chambers, Sir Colin Murray, intends selling out to another company whose agenda is straightforward. Recruit Sue Williams. As negotiations proceed, it becomes clear that the proposed merger between the law firms might not be such a good idea.

Sue's life is further complicated by the news that one of her string quartet is moving away and they need to find a replacement. Who will come to the rescue?

A recent case handled by Bob has unforeseen repercussions when he and Sue go away for the weekend.

This new novel runs to over 60K words.

March 2014 is the publication date for the final volume in the trilogy, "Duty of Care". Taking place from November 2011 through to August 2012, we learn more about the backgrounds of Bob and Sue.

We learn about the influence that Sue's late uncle has had on her life. Just who is it that Sue spends a night in a hotel with?

During the course of this volume, we'll see a major argument involving a character we've met, a murder trial, a birthday Sue is unlikely to forget and an emotional graveside scene.

"Hunter's Moon".

First publication 2011.

Set for the most part in Autumn 1998, it deals with a twenty year old mystery. In the summer of 1978 Susan Davies had everything going for her. She wanted to become an M.P. Something happened and she mysteriously disappeared. An investigative journalist Claudia Keenan is on the hunt for information, but Cladia is killed in a car accident. Her father wants answers and he is in a position to insist on action.

WPC Donna Miller is investigating the death of Claudia. Embroiled in the investigation, Donna is unaware that her involvement has attracted the attention of local witches. As the case progresses and past and present collide, Donna is forced to re-examine her beliefs.

The book is set in Cornwall and Sheffield. Many of the locations are real although sadly the jazzy bistro is no longer part of the Sheffield scene. Much of this book was written after a visit to Cornwall in the October of 1998.
