Elisabeth Nelson writes about history in the context of a love story.

In her first novel, High Ground, Elisabeth combines her interest in history and law to portray the legal, political and moral conflict preceding the American Civil War; and the disillusionment and devastation of war as seen through the eyes of an idealistic army lawyer and the daughter of an American diplomat.

Elisabeth's second novel, Chateau de la Mer, is a love story set in 1823 on the island of Martinique. In this story, slavery is the issue when her hero, the son of a wealthy planter, finds himself enslaved.

Her latest novel, Everything I Am, is set during the last years of the American Civil War and tells a story of love and faith challenged by deception and betrayal.
