Dan Walter is the author of Collateral Damage: A Patient, a New Procedure, and the Learning Curve, a compelling behind the scenes look at the corrupting corporate influence on America’s health care system. Dr. David Mayer said in a review that “… this book should be required reading for all resident physicians and health science students entering the field.”

Dan has served as Communications Director for US Senator Herb Kohl and the American News Network. He has worked as a political consultant with Democratic strategist Joe Trippi. He is a member of the Consumers Union Safe Patient Project, collaborating with patient safety advocates to reduce harm from preventable medical errors.
