Thomas Kier

Thomas Kier was born in California, and has lived his life there, aside from childhood summer vacations when he traveled with his family to various destinations across the US. After high school, he attended three semesters at Mt San Antonio College, then rebelled against his better judgment. The full-time working world promised the glamor of independence.

He held a variety of jobs in the retail and trade industries, and ended up driving a truck across the country. The travel satisfied him, but the schedule did not. His wife and two kids required a more stable life than the traveling lifestyle provided.

When Thomas finally decided to listen to his heart and start writing seriously, using a bizarre dream as a starting point, he astonished himself by completing a novel. The subject matter was another astonishment to him, but his curiosity about one particular character led him into his second work, a novella that actually preceded the first one to publication. Both books reflect a dark fascination with human motivations that are less than admirable.

Thomas has benefited greatly from his association with the High Desert branch of the California Writers Club and with other writers of all genres and experience levels. He is always looking for his next inspiration, realizing that one’s writing redefines one’s outlook on the world.
