Angela Kirschner

What excites me...education, outdoor activities, and most of all, spending time with my family and friends. I grew up in Waterford, Michigan, before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, in my junior year of high school. After high school, I attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, where I earned a Business Management-Marketing degree in just 3 years. After graduation, I worked for an advertising firm in the Detroit area. Later, I discovered my love for teaching and went back to school, earning a Masters in Education degree from the University of Phoenix. I've lived in the Phoenix, Arizona, area since 2004 where I've taught in a special needs preschool and taught middle school science and math. While teaching seventh grade science, I was fortunate enought to earned a unique Leadership award from SAE International for my work pairing General Motor retirees with my 7th grade Science students to learn about gears in a fun and memorable way. While teaching, I also enjoyed coaching basketball. My passion for education has increased even more since I had my son, Ethan, whom I adore spending time with and reading books to. While I miss the classroom, I've taken up triathlons, writing books, and teaching Ethan.
