I'm now reaching into my fourth career! My third included a lot of technology and IT work. I developed an abidding passion for linking what IT can do for the human side of business - how do the people change under the impact of technology.
A book on Data base design is only one aspect of how we make systems that respond to users needs.
Now I spend much time teaching project management, business analysis and doing the occassional database gig. The rest of my time is spent rowing and building fine furniture. Want a Nakashima style table? a simple sideboard or cabinet?
Database design is only one aspect of the quality logical and critical thinking style that we need to make the BEST systems for our clients. The same thinking skills work for business analysis, furniture making, leadership and most aspects of living.
And have fun doing it!
