Richard Rosser

Richard grew up in a household filled with books and attended many musical theater productions while in elementary school. After high school, Richard moved to Virginia to attend Washington and Lee University, where he became interested in filmmaking. While in college, Richard won a Student Academy Award for his animated film No One For Chess. After earning a Master’s Degree in Film Production from NYU, Richard began producing commercials and subsequently worked on a number of children’s programs including The Adventures of Pete and Pete and Lizzie McGuire. After watching a man steal a parking space from his mother-in-law, Richard created the Piggy Ticket and the concept of Piggy Nation was born. Richard went on to write his first children’s book A Day At Work With Dad and began presenting the book to elementary classes throughout Los Angeles. The kids responded so positively that Richard transformed the book into a musical that premiered at Theatre Palisades on February 25, 2011. Richard lives in Pacific Palisades with his wife and daughter.
