Ken Evans

My academic qualifications are in Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology, with interests in Anthropology and Semiology, and I have mainly taught Philosophy and Psychology in European and South East Asian universities, and worked in mental health in multicultural settings. I write both academic books and fiction. My preferences are to combine traditional folk tales with current events to produce a distinctive magical realism centred on current social and political events and debates, these include; education, social care, ecology, institutional & political incompetence, bureaucracy,and the human condition.Most of my ideas and scenarios are taken from real-life events,and over-heard conversations in public places, to which I try to add a little magic. So if you think you recognise a hint of something you might have said or thought, sometime and somewhere, then maybe, but only maybe I was there, or perhaps my cat was!
