Michael Lindsay-Hogg

Michael Lindsay-Hogg is an award-winning film, TV, and theatre director, as well as an author and artist.

At only 24, he directed the iconic British live music TV show "Ready Steady Go," featuring The Rolling Stones, The Who, Dusty Springfield, The Kinks, Tom Jones, and American artists such as The Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, The Supremes, and James Brown.

The distinctive look and feel and directing style that Michael used was so popular with performers, it led to a career in music video direction starting with short video ‘promos’ for The Beatles, The Who, and The Rolling Stones. He went on to direct the TV special "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus” and have a successful 15-year-long collaboration with the band.

For The Beatles, Michael directed four videos, including the classic "Hey Jude," which was followed by the documentary "Let It Be." In addition to providing material for Peter Jackson’s docuseries "Get Back," a newly restored version has been made available by Disney+.

In dramatic television, Michael received four BAFTA nominations and won for the acclaimed BBC series "Brideshead Revisited."

His theatre work includes "The White Devil" with Glenda Jackson at The Old Vic, the award-winning "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" in London and on Broadway, "Agnes of God" on Broadway, and Larry Kramer’s "The Normal Heart" at New York’s Public Theater.

Among his feature films is "The Object of Beauty" starring John Malkovich and Andie MacDowell, which Michael both wrote and directed.

As an artist, his drawings and paintings have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris.

Michael lives in upstate New York with his wife, Lisa.
