Matthew Brennan

The author was a forward observer and "Blue" infantryman with the First Air Cavalry Division's reconnaissance squadron. Decorations include the Combat Infantry Badge, a Silver Star, and three Purple Hearts.

Matthew left the service as a conscientious objector under honorable conditions. He was later named Distinguished Member of the 9th Cavalry Regiment (DMOR) and earned a Ph.D.
