Maurice Patrick Rose'Meyer was born in 1928. He spent his early years in India where he travelled extensively. His father was a captain in the Indian army and his mother was the daughter of an owner of a rubber plantation in Burma, now Myanmar. After obtaining a science degree from the Calcutta University and a diploma from the College of Aeronautical Engineering in London, he commenced his flight test career and participated in tests of over fifty types of aircraft as a flight test engineer. He held membership with the society of flight test engineers and was an associate member of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute, where he served as chairman of the flight test section and for two years was a member of the council. After retiring from De Havilland Aircraft as Manager of their Experimental Flight Test Department in 1991, he has continued testing aircraft as an aviation consultant following a long career in advanced aircraft design and flight testing. at age 82,he still is participating in aircraft certification flight testing. The author now resides in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada with his wife Myrna. He has three daughters, Linda, Susan and Anne.
