Solmaz Parveen

Solmaz Parveen is a second generation Persian American who created the Leila's Adventures series to provide children a fun and interesting way to learn about Persian culture.

After Solmaz had her first daughter, she realized how important it was to her that her children understand and connect with their heritage. Unfortunately, after searching for modern and engaging children's stories and workbooks, she could not find any that appealed to her. The Leila's Adventures series was thus created.

Her diverse background, including a long-standing obsession with puzzles and games, an economics and mathematics degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco, and being a mother, helped create this creative, interactive approach to teaching children and parents about Persian culture.

She currently lives in San Francisco, CA with her husband and daughter.
