Allison Daily

Allison Daily was born in Tucson, Arizona but moved to Austin, Texas when she was five years old. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a business degree. She was a tennis pro at Austin Country Club right after college and owned and did all of the buying for the tennis shop.

Before taking a job in Dallas, she spent a winter in Aspen, Colorado with a college friend. There she met her husband, Art Daily, right before moving to Dallas. He convinced her to move back and they were married a year later and now have two sons, Rider and Burke.

Art and Allison co-wrote Out of the Canyon: A True Story of Loss and Love (Crown, 2009). The memoir is the story of Art's accident in Glenwood Canyon in which his wife Kathy and two young boys, Tanner and Shea, were killed by a large boulder while Art was driving them all home from a hockey game. Allison had lost a brother years before from suicide and reached out to Art a few months after the accident and wrote him an anonymous letter and sent him a tape of songs. As it turned out the tape of songs were his wife, Kathy's favorite songs. The letter and tape and the miracles that followed to bring the two together, changed their lives forever.
