J. R. Armstrong was born and raised in southeast Michigan. In the 5th grade she wrote a sci-fi story for a class assignment and was hooked on writing. She attended Olivet College where she majored in Sociology.
After college she married and she and her husband spent a month traveling across the USA. Their plan is to do this again some day in the near future and introduce her books to people along the way and also to do research at a national park for her next book.
J. R. wrote "Owe It to the Wind" and "Truly, Everything" in 11 cities on two continents and a Caribbean Island. Both books won First Place in ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards for Romance. "Truly, Everything" was also a Finalist in the Eric Hoffer and Indie Excellence Awards.
When she is not writing she can be found quilting, sewing, knitting or curled up with a good book. Much to her children's dismay she can occasionally be found sledding during a snowstorm. She hopes to try out the luge in western Michigan some day.
