Buddy Helms

Buddy Helms writes both fiction and non-fiction books about Christianity, faith, love, and relationships. He and his wife, Carla, recently sold the ranch where they lived outside of Big Lake, Texas to make more time for ministry. He served as the Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Big Lake for over twelve years, but he is also available to travel to other churches for evangelistic outreach, discipleship studies, creation seminars, or Bible conferences.

He is currently the Pastor of Brentwood Family Fellowship in San Angelo, Texas. The church meets at 2121 Lindell Avenue. The dress is casual. Come visit us! The new church was launched on Sunday morning, November 18th at 10:00 AM and is now meeting weekly.

"Mike's New Reality" was his first novel. He has recently completed and released two new novels and a six week study guide for small groups for "A Campaign for Christ." His latest book to be released is a discipleship study called "Outrageous Christian Discipleship." His new novel, "Alienated," will be released soon.

Buddy graduated from Monahans High School in Monahans, Texas. He attended New Mexico State University, and while there, he felt the call to full-time ministry. He transferred to Howard Payne University where he graduated in 1975. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, but left before graduating to serve as the Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Hermleigh, Texas. He continued his studies through distance learning and holds graduate degrees from Andersonville Theological Seminary and Newburgh Theological Seminary. He is also a board certified faith based counselor.
