Dr. Curt Watke grew up in a Pastors home in Wyoming and Montana, but has since lived in 11 US states across most of the US regions and 2 Canadian provinces. His experience with culture shock as an early teen led him to both a passion for missions and a devotion to understanding cultural differences. He completed an MA in Biblical Studies and MDiv at Biblical Theological Seminary and a PhD with a double major in Evangelism and Missions from Southwestern Seminary. He served in pastoral ministry in Georgia, Virginia and Pennsylvania. He was part of a church planting team in the Washington, DC area. He has taught evangelism, church planting, missions, sociology and cultural anthropology on both the undergraduate and graduate levels at a college in Canada and at four seminaries in the US and Canada. He has also taught pastors and conducted conferences on three continents. He is the founding Executive Director of a non-profit missional research and training agency which he began in 2003.
