Michael Hill

Michael C. Hill has worked in the US and Europe as an independent consultant conducting seminars on business strategy, project management and capital planning, and leveraging information technology. He is the author of Platforms and Languages of the Internet. Mr. Hill has a degree in physics, is a certified engineer, and is an experienced computer programmer. In 1993, he started a medical staffing company and inside of one year it was the provider of temporary staff for several hospitals, HMOs, and private practices. The business was sold in 1995. Mr. Hill is also the founder of Next Level Solutions, a Washington area IT consulting firm servicing both government and private sector clientele. It is still a leading provider of information technology expertise from coast to coast. In 2002, he created Emerge Homes, a homebuilding business intended to fill a market need for custom home construction for consumers typically limited to “cookie-cutter” houses. Applying his capability as a project management specialist and his grounding in the family construction business, he assembled a team of master builders who combine for nearly 100 years of experience and Emerge was born. At the peak of Emerge Homes' success, he had a net worth of more than $40 million, before the 2007-9 economic collapse left his home-building business bankrupt. As he picked up the pieces, he became determined to drill through the politically biased noise and understand the "flaw" former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan described in our model of the economic world. His findings on the causes and conditions that brought on the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression resulted in the book Cannibal Capitalism-A Nonpartisan Look at What's Undermining American Prosperity. Michael C. Hill now works as a venture capitalist in Washington DC and is editor in chief and founder of the unbiased news site www.thenuuz.com. He is also an occasional contributor to the Washington Post. Hill lives in Maryland with his wife and two daughters.
