Mahendra Ramsinghani

Mahendra Ramsinghani has spent two decades investing and writing about venture capital. An active practitioner in the heart of Silicon Valley, he has completed over fifty investments, multiple exits, spectacular flame-outs and some very happy limited partners (LPs). He is the author of The Business of Venture Capital (4th edition, Wiley, 2026), The Resilient Founder (Wiley, 2021), and co-author of Startup Boards (2nd edition, Wiley, 2022) with Brad Feld and Matt Blumberg. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Secure Octane, a cybersecurity seed fund based in San Francisco. He has advised sovereign wealth funds and publicly traded companies on launching venture funds, managing portfolios, and generating returns. Earlier in his career, Mahendra served as Director of Venture Capital Initiatives at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where he led the legislative passage of a Fund-of-Funds program, one of the few practitioners to have shaped venture policy. He holds a degree in Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and Finance. He has paid rent in Detroit, Singapore, and Mumbai and now lives in San Francisco.
