Erika Wolf

Erika Wolf is a professor of the School of Advanced Studies at the University of Tyumen in Siberia. A native New Yorker, she completed degrees at Princeton and the University of Michigan. Her primary field of research is Soviet visual culture, but she has also published on photography in New Zealand and the Pacific. A visual historian and cultural critic, she has authored books on the Soviet propaganda artists Aleksandr Zhitomirsky and Viktor Koretsky, and contributed extensively to "The Worker Photography Movement [1926-1939]: Essays and Documents" -- winner of the International Center of Photography's 2012 Infinity Award.
